We use analytics to understand how the site is used (Google Analytics cookies only if you accept them). Personal information is only collected when you choose to provide it, for example through email sign-up, contact forms, advertising enquiries or submissions such as price reports and kill-sheet uploads. We do not sell personal data. See also our cookie notice.

What information we may collect

IrelandCattlePrice.com collects only what is needed to run and improve the site. This may include:

Farmer price reports — cattle category, farmer county, factory, kill date and kill week, number of cattle, total deadweight, total payment and the effective price per kg, where submitted
Documentary evidence such as a factory payment docket, only where a farmer chooses to supply one to support a report (held privately and used only for review)
Email addresses, where a farmer signs up for the weekly cattle price update
Contact messages, where a farmer or visitor contacts us directly
Advertising enquiries — name, business, email, phone (optional) and message, where a business uses the advertising enquiry form
Mart report submissions — the name and email of the person supplying a mart report, where a mart or reporter uses the mart report form
Basic website usage information — page views, visitor numbers, device type (see the cookie notice)

How farmer price reports are used

Farmer price reports are displayed to the public anonymously. In the list of newest reports, a published report shows only the county (if given), the factory, the type of animal, how long ago it was reported and the price. Your identity and contact details are never published. If you think a published report could identify you, tell us and we will broaden or remove the identifying detail.

Where a farmer supplies a factory payment docket, we use it only to review the submitted report against the payment evidence. The original document and any identifiable transaction detail (name, herd number, animal tag numbers, account, customer or docket numbers, bank details) are kept private, stored separately from the public price record, and are never published. A "Kill-sheet backed" label means only that we checked the submitted figures against the document supplied — it does not claim the report represents the whole market.

Individual reports are included in anonymous aggregates over a stated date window (currently the last 30 days, by the date the report was submitted). The average for a type of animal is the plain average of each report's own price per kg — it is not weighted by carcase weight — and it is published only once at least three independent reports exist for that type in the window. Unusual figures are held for review and kept out of public figures; nothing is deleted. If we spot that the same sale has been reported twice, the duplicate is kept out of public figures. Kill-sheet uploads are held privately for review and do not count in public figures until they have been checked. See the methodology for the full rules.

Price reports are kept as part of the long-run price record; they carry no name or contact details. You can ask us to delete any message, phone number or document you sent us.

Please do not submit private personal information about yourself or anyone else in the price fields. If you contact us or report a price by email, WhatsApp or text message, that message and phone number are personal data: we use them only to verify or follow up on a report, we store them separately from the public price record, and we do not publish or sell them.

Email addresses

If you sign up for the weekly cattle price update or any other email from IrelandCattlePrice.com, your email address is used only for that purpose. We do not share email addresses with third parties for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Service providers

We may use third-party service providers to help run the site. These may include hosting providers, form and data tools, email newsletter platforms and website analytics tools. These providers process data only on our behalf and in line with their own privacy policies.

We do not sell your data

Personal data collected through IrelandCattlePrice.com is not sold to any third party.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold about you at any time. Contact us at brendan.kennedy@irelandcattleprice.com and we will respond as soon as we can.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Irish supervisory authority, the Data Protection Commission, at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any significant changes will be noted on this page.
